“We chose Union Services because: it met our budget; they sold Trane units; we were already Union Power Cooperative customers. Matt sold us the unit. He answered all our questions and returned phone calls promptly. On June 24, Jesse and Charles replaced the unit, working from 8-4 to finish the job and cleaning up thereafter. We bought them pizza for their lunch, getting more acquainted. They were friendly, courteous, and professional. (Jesse is a Marine veteran and we are happy to have hired a serviceman: Semper Fi). Chad wired the electrical connections. A minor mistake of not sealing the wires to the wall caused a failed inspection but Marc corrected it, even on a rainy day and it passed the next day. Michelle is an efficient scheduler/dispatcher. She scheduled within our time frame and emailed documents promptly. The unit is cooling the rooms at the designated temperature thus far. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. We look forward to many years of service from Union.”

“Please let me tell you had this company is out to take advantage of its customers. Purchased a unit in2017and have had nothing but trouble. Called to discuss the problem with mark the license holder which told me that union services was not a part of union electric. Basicly told me I was having a silly conversation and that I didn’t know what I was talking about. My unit wAs out of the labor warnty by three months and I under stood that. The parts were warranted and they wanted 575 to replace a fans motor. At that point I Ask him just let me have the and I would get it put in a lower price. Mark preceded to tell me that if I didn’t pay him the 575 that he was going to charge me 925 for a part that was under warranty. This was the rude experience I have had in my 72 years. At the end mark hung up on me. Is this the kind of coumpany you want to do business with. Good luck if you do. I spent 7500 to find out that I am dealing with a company that don’t care about their customer. I give them minus 5 stars.”

We have a sealed crawl space, which reduces airflow and causes the units to operate inefficiently–– something only Union Services was able to point out. They performed a very professional job installing a vent pipe to prevent our units from working so hard. “This review is in regards to the HVAC system purchased by my in-laws Charles and Joyce Fowler, in full disclosure my wife and I purchased a system from Union Services earlier this year also. On Saturday morning at 2:00am my in-laws air conditioning went out and they called later in the morning to see if someone could fix it for them. They had to call several times until anyone bothered to call them back, when someone did it was Marc Eastergard and he told them that he didn’t schedule anyone on call this weekend and he would have someone out Monday. This bothers me because their service paperwork and the magnet provided by Union Services both refer to 24 hour 7 days a week service. I myself spoke with Mr. Eastergard later in the day where he refereed to my Father-in-law as belligerent, this I find insulting because anyone who knows him would never refer to Charles Fowler as belligerent, if you would like to verify that contact your former President and CEO and current Board of Directors member B.L. Starnes he and Charles are old friends. My conversation with Mr. Eastergard didn’t go well and as someone that carries several State of North Carolina Certifications myself I will be filling an official complaint against his license #33432 Monday morning. I would also like to point out that my wife and I have yet to purchase a service contract with Union Services, before this it was a given that we would be and now I intend to look around for a third party. “I have used Union Services since they installed my HVAC system in 2000.
I have Union Services perform maintenance twice a year: November and May.
In the past few years the maintenance service has me scratching my head.
Each technician seems to perform different items.
One will clean the air handler coils, one will not.
One will clean the electronic air filter cells, one will not.
One will push compressed air thru the air handler drain pipe to clear any debris, one will not.
One will spray a cleaner and hose down the outside compressor unit, one will not.
Today, the technician said they don't clean the compressor unit in the winter because it may freeze up, it was 62 degrees today! Winter starts on December 22 !
I never know what I'm getting for my money and if the correct maintenance is being performed.
I may rethink my spring 2020 service provider.”

“Last year I purchased a 3-ton Trane HVAC unit that included a Nexia Smart Thermostat. At that time, we did not replace the thermostat upstairs. Today, I called Union Services to install the same thermostat for upstairs unit and was outraged that their quote was $550! I could not believe this and asked to speak with a supervisor. He told me that Trane own Nexia and they set the prices.

Further, the supervisor told me that the reason they cost so much is because Trane can log into my thermostat and control my unit remotely. A LITTLE PIECE OF INFO THE SALESMAN FAILED TO DISCLOSE.

Also, the thermostat can control door locks and garage door openers. I don’t need any of those high priced features – I just want to control my indoor temperature.

I checked the prices at Lowes and smart thermostats are around $150. What a rip off!

I would not ever recommend this service and plan to remove Nexia and throw that overpriced junk in the trash as soon as possible.

If I could get electricity from another source I would cancel Union Services Power Company as well.

“You charged us $203.83 for replacing flame sensor and $352.25 for labor and trip charge. The flame sensor is all rusted and old, and I have pictures showing rust, where you supposedly put in a new one. Plus you insulted my wife. I brought out DAC Services Inc and they showed me the cobwebs, leaves and trash around flame sensor and that sensor would read sometimes and sometimes it would not causing alarm mode and unit to shut down. WASTED $556.08 with Union Services DO NOT USE UNION SERVICES”
